Im not for sure how to interpret this. I don't' know weather to go with the feeling of being used, being caught in a place where you feel insecure about your self or, what but this is so beautiful. Your art makes me feel with it. As a writer that is one of the man goals, is to let the reader feel what you want them too. But here with this. there is true passion here. an you don't see that too often.
I think the high contrast on the right side works very well with the image, in my opinion it makes the foreground stand out more, but at the same time keeps the middle and backgrounds meshed into the work. Of course, that is all open to opinion, you being the artist, and a very skilled one at that, will do what you feel is right to make it better! Props!
Do you know what would actually allow you to build up a dense narrative susceptible of extended interpretation, what would actually be original by this point, what would make your paintings beautiful? If you actually expressed mythic material with sensitivity to it original context, iconographical tradition, and the tradition of Western aesthetics in general. You can do that and still be a modern painter--look at the Symbolists. What is it about ugliness that enchants you anyway?
I simply love this painting. The use of colors in the skin as well as the smoothness. The contrast between the texture of the background and the smooth detail of the fore figure is so wonderful. Her gesture is very interesting and really makes the viewer began to interpret themselves into the piece.
